Fine interior painting and decorating in a luxury residential home

Fine Painting & Decorating

Fine Painting & Decorating

Meticulous surface preparation and refined finish work for walls, ceilings, millwork, and architectural details throughout the home.

The finish is only as good as the preparation

Fine painting is not simply the application of paint. It is the sequence of work that comes before — filling, sanding, priming, and building the surface to a standard that holds the finish and shows it at its best. We approach every project with that discipline, whether it is a single room or a complete interior.

We work with homeowners, interior designers, and architects on projects where the quality of the finish matters — period properties, new builds with high-specification interiors, and renovations where the painting and decorating is expected to be invisible in the best sense: perfectly executed and entirely unobtrusive.

Specialties

What we do

Interior Walls & Ceilings

Full preparation and finish for walls and ceilings in any paint system — from flat and matte to eggshell, satin, and high-gloss. Consistent sheen, clean lines, and no visible texture variation.

Millwork & Architectural Detail

Doors, frames, skirting, cornices, panelling, and built-in cabinetry. Millwork painting requires patience and precision — brush marks, runs, and uneven sheen are not acceptable at this level of work.

High-Gloss & Lacquer Finishes

Oil-based and waterborne high-gloss finishes for doors, panelling, and furniture. Surface preparation is everything — high-gloss amplifies every imperfection, and we prepare accordingly.

Decorative Paint Techniques

Colour washing, limewash, dragging, stippling, and other traditional decorative finishes. Applied with the restraint and skill that makes them an asset rather than an affectation.

Exterior Painting

Timber windows, doors, fascias, soffits, and rendered or masonry exteriors. Correct preparation and primer selection for the substrate and exposure conditions.

Colour & Finish Consultation

Guidance on paint selection, sheen levels, and colour relationships for the space. We work alongside interior designers and directly with homeowners who want an informed second opinion before committing.

Our Process

How we work

01

Assessment & Specification

We visit the space, assess the existing surfaces, and agree on the scope of preparation and the paint system to be used. Nothing is assumed — every surface is evaluated on its own terms.

02

Surface Preparation

Filling, sanding, priming, and any necessary remedial work. This phase takes as long as it takes — rushing preparation is the most common cause of a finish that disappoints.

03

Application

Paint is applied in the correct number of coats for the system and the substrate. Each coat is allowed to cure properly before the next is applied. Cutting-in is done by hand, not masked.

04

Review & Handover

The finished work is reviewed in natural and artificial light before we consider it complete. Any touch-ups are addressed before we leave. The space is left clean and ready to use.
